About Buena Onda

Taking its name from the new wave of Latin American, and in particular Brazilian cinema, Buena Onda Limited is a London-based film production company whose principal activity is geared towards nurturing and developing new writing and directing talent. Buena Onda is part of the international media group International Film Collective (IFC).

Buena Onda has been involved in the financing and production of Pablo Trapero’s crowd favourite Familia Rodante, Like Minds with Toni Collette and Eddie Redmayne, the Walter Salles-produced Cidade Baixa (Official Selection – Cannes 2005) and has produced various documentaries including the politically charged, Bolivia set, drug trade expose The Coca Leaf Diaries and Tribeca Film Festival sensation The Workshop.

The Creative Director of Buena Onda is Donald Ranvaud, who is widely recognised as one of the best ‘discoverers’ of new talent in the business. His credits include such critically acclaimed and commecially successful films as Farewell My Concubine, Central Station, City of God and The Constant Gardener.
