About Buena Onda

The Creative Director of Buena Onda is Donald Ranvaud, who is widely recognised by the filmmaking fraternity as one of the best ‘discoverers’ of new talent in the business. His credits include such critically acclaimed and commercially successful films as ‘Farewell My Concubine’, ‘Central Station’, ‘City of God’ and ‘The Constant Gardener’.

Buena Onda is curently involved in the production and financing of a slate of film projects, as well as sponsoring film education programs and establishing a digital distribution network.

Financing
In accordance with its underlying ethos of working with the filmmakers to allow them to retain as much creative and financial control over their films, Buena Onda can provide financing through a range of sources including, but not limited to, equity investments from third-party investors and the structuring of sophisticated co-productions to allow the filmmakers to raise significant financing from so-called 'soft' sources (Buena Onda's directors and the members of IFC's producer network provide access to worldwide expertise on everything from subsidies to tax breaks and soft loans).

Distribution
Taking full advantage of its position at the centre of a sales and distribution network which includes its sister sales company Lumina Films on one side and its privileged relationships with a number of distributors in key territories on the other, Buena Onda can provide a range of distribution solutions which include straight sales and pre-sales, as well as digital distribution through its alliance with the Rain Network and DVD distribution through the Buena Onda Releasing label in the UK.

Buena Onda is part of the IFC (International Film Collective) group, a privately-owned international media group with interests in film, music and fashion.
