Located in the city of Cochabamba in the heart of Bolivia, La Fabrica film school was set up by leading Bolivian filmmaker Roberto Lanza in 2002 and is supported by the National Council for Cinema (CONACINE) and the Executive Committee of the University of Bolivia (CEUB). Since its inception La Fabrica has become a key player in redefining the cultural landscape of a country whose people have suffered continuous repression of one form or another since the beginnings of time.

As a film school with a strong cultural mandate therefore, La Fabrica's main purpose is twofold: to promote and help sustain the Bolivian film, television and advertising industries by training professionals in the different areas of production, and to make a meaningful contribution to the enrichment and preservation of Bolivian history, art, and culture through the audiovisual medium and promote them in the international market.

La Fabrica offers its students a 1-year Diploma in Filmmaking, and its strong ties to the industry have also meant that it regularly hosts additional workshops with leading figures of Latin American cinema and that ultimately its graduates have themselves gone on to become industry leaders in Bolivia and beyond.

Buena Onda has been a proud patron of La Fabrica since 2003 and has recently produced the second feature of acclaimed Bolivian director and La Fabrica instructor Rodrigo Bellot, 'Quien Mato a La Llamita Blanca?' (currently in post-production), and is currently in production on Roberto Lanza's politically-charged documentary 'Coca Lives', both of which have seen students from the school work alongside seasoned professionals in their production.
